Elise Freda, Jill Gewirtz and Joyce Pommer

Through the perspectives of 3 artists--Elise Freda, Jill Gewirtz and Joyce Pommer--Transitions explores the idea of process, gateways, and change.  Elise Freda, a painter from Callicoon, NY creates paintings and works on paper that weave layers of artistic process into bursts of color exploring nature and abstraction. Jill Gewirtz, a New York City native, captures the varying landscape of the city through a series of photographs of doors. Each door a gateway into a different neighborhood.  Joyce Pommer, also based in New York City, creates paintings that come alive physically and emotionally using space and layers of materials to transition the viewer to a sense of fragility.
